Backpackers: School-Year Classes for Kids (Grades K–8)
Our school-year classes are offered at a variety of levels for everyone from complete beginners to heritage speakers. Classes meet in small, stable groups and follow a fun, project-based curriculum. Age-appropriate activities may include games, art projects, nature exploration, pretend play, theatre, music, and literature. For students who already speak and/or understand the language, classes are an opportunity to build community through shared language and culture, where they can enrich their vocabulary, build their confidence, and work toward biliteracy.
LEVEL 1:
OPEN ENROLLMENT
These classes are designed for students with little or no experience in the language. You can see a full

LEVEL 2:
ENROLLMENT WITH PERMISSION ONLY
These classes are for students who have already taken a year of classes with us or who have equivalent
experience. Please email us at info@omniglotsri.com if you're interested in enrolling.
- LAS HORMIGAS (Grades 3–5) — Monday/Wednesday, 2:45–3:45pm
- LOS CUERVOS (Grades 3–5) — Monday/Wednesday, 2:45–3:45pm
- LOS PEREZOSOS (Grades 3–5) — Tuesday/Thursday, 2:45–3:45pm
- LOS MAPACHES (Grades 6–8) — Monday/Thursday, 4:00–5:00pm
Stargazers: Beginner Spanish Workshops for Kids
Our Stargazer Workshops are designed for children with little or no experience with the language. Each thematic, project-based workshop introduces and reinforces basic skills (counting, alphabet, etc.) within a different context and with distinct vocabulary. We read books, listen to music, play games, create art, and learn about different cultures and traditions. Children can try one workshop or take them all!

Spanish Tutoring and Private Lessons

Classes for Adults
Because we keep our classes small, we can tailor lessons to meet students' individual needs and interests. Whether you want to communicate with a neighbor, interact with coworkers, travel to a Spanish-speaking country, or converse with new in-laws, we'll help you reach your goals.
See below for a list of summer and fall Spanish classes for adults. We recommend that Level 0 students start at the beginning of the session. Level 1 and 2 students may join at any time!
